Bishop Noel Jones was born in Spanish Town, Saint Catherine, Jamaica, and received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Aenon Bible College. He then received his Ph.D. from the International Circle of Faith.
He went on to become the pastor of the Bethel Temple in Longview, Texas. He became the pastor of Greater Bethany Community Church in Los Angeles, California, in the mid-1990s. The church had 1000 members when he first became pastor. Less than ten years later, the congregation had grown exponentially, and it now had a membership of 17,000 people.
To accommodate the increased number of parishioners, an additional building was constructed. The City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir, the church’s choir, also released a successful gospel album in 2007.
